Agustina's Story

Ver en español.

Watch Agustina’s story to see how an entrepreneurial women’s group in rural Peru is affected by lack of access to learning and financial knowledge.

Agustina is a mother in a rural village in Peru. She is also the president of a women’s group who weave to make money and honour their culture and traditions. Because of deep-rooted sexism in their community, Agustina didn’t go to school, and so isn’t able to read and write. She wants to grow the weaving business and is willing to learn how, but without help she is worried that they won’t prosper and their craft and culture will be lost.
